There is no straightforward answer to the question of how to set up an IP-PBX. For a number of commonly used IP-PBXs, we have already researched and described the settings for you in our technical Wiki.
If your PBX is not listed but does support SIP, it should be possible to make it work with a Voys trunk.
To set up a trunk, in many cases you'll need a username and password for the trunk. You can find these in Freedom.voys.nl under 'Admin' and then click on 'Trunks'. Here you'll see the trunk you have with us. If you click on the trunk, you'll see its settings. Here you can find the account ID and password. You'll use these to set up the trunk in your own PBX. The proxy server to connect to is ha.voys.nl.
Additionally, you can often adjust many more settings. This varies by PBX. The terminology also differs by brand. The most important settings are listed below as a guide.
- Registration interval: 1800 seconds
- Keep-Alive: 10 seconds
- STUN/TURN/ICE/ALG: turn off
- PRACK support: no
- DTMF: RFC2833
- DNS SRV: enable if possible (RFC 3263)
- Rport: optional, if behind NAT
- Send session refresh (RFC 4028): No
- Preferred codec: G711a / G722 / G729
- Transport protocol: UDP or TCP
- Identity: PPI
- PPI/PAI header: CLIP
- Call transfer method: Re-invite or REFER
- Use destination URL from: Request line
- Music on hold signaling: auto or rfc 3264
If registering the trunk or receiving calls doesn't work, we can enable SIP analysis for you. This allows you to easily identify and fix problems.
