Frequently Asked Questions
What information is needed when performing a number port?
- The current operator (departing operator)
- The customer's address as used by the departing operator (if you're not sure, call the current operator)
- The numbers associated with the address
- The connection type including additional information, such as MSN and MROP numbers
- Desired porting date and time
Note: The desired date is a requested date. Only after the porting agreement from the departing operator does the desired date become a porting date. If a porting is not approved by the donor operator, the request is closed and must be recreated entirely for a new request.
Which numbers can I port?
All Dutch fixed, 0800-, 0900-, 085- and 088-numbers.
Is the address on the bill always correct?
Often the address you use when initiating a port is correct, but it's not always the case. If the address is incorrect, the Directory Listing might provide a better address. Want to be certain? Call the "departing" operator. If you have access to KPN wholesale's WLR system, you can use the MIP tool.
Can I port 1 number from a block of 10 or 100?
Unfortunately, the departing operator will block the porting. Porting the entire block is the only solution.
Can I port blocks of 10 numbers as 10 individual numbers?
You can try, but it may be rejected by the departing operator because they expect a sequence.
Can multiple numbers from one customer be submitted in a single porting request?
Yes, except when there are separate bills for the numbers. In that case, you should submit the portings "separately".
Can I request changes to a porting?
Yes, but only after the departing operator has processed the request. In such a case, you can, for example, change a porting date to a "later" date. If the porting has been approved by the departing operator, you cannot change the numbers anymore!
The end customer wants to postpone the porting date (by several months) and doesn't have an exact delivery date. What now?
The porting will need to be canceled and can be resubmitted when the customer has established the desired date.
How long does it take to approve a porting?
- The guideline for operators is 2 business days
- When it's busy, it usually takes 4 business days
- The maximum term is 6 business days
What is an MROP number?
These are one or more individual phone numbers that have been added outside a (consecutive) block, for example within an ISDN30.
Can I port 1 number from an ISDN2 or ISDN30?
Yes, but then the fixed line must be canceled with the current operator afterward. It is advisable for the end customer to do this themselves.
A porting is blocked with the note: is "Digi Access from KPN"
The customer has a Digi Access service from KPN. If the number is ported out, this service will expire. There are two options:
- The customer cancels the Digi Access line
- The customer must confirm that the Digi Access line may be canceled
A number has been ported out of the platform and customers can no longer reach the number
Please let us know via email, as our systems think the number is still "within" the network and therefore we try to reach it there.
The porting was executed an hour ago, but no calls are coming in
Very occasionally, the process at the operators experiences delays because many portings are taking place on one day. An email to us helps: we'll contact the provider.
Directory Listing
A new customer can specify exactly which listings they want during their first login. We connect directly with the directory.

Individual analog number
This is a number linked to an analog line.
ISDN 2 connection (Basic Rate Interface, BRI)
This is a two-line digital ISDN2 connection over two copper lines. An NTE box enables two simultaneous calls over the lines.
Main and MSN numbers can be linked to ISDN lines.
An ISDN2 line can be composed of the following numbers:
- ISDN2 Main number (required) (mandatory)
- ISDN2 MSN number (optional)
- ISDN2 Number block (optional)
ISDN30 (Primary Rate Interface, PRI)
This is a digital telephone connection over two copper lines. An NTE box handles the line splitting. ISDN30 lines can handle 10, 15, 20, or 30 simultaneous calls.
MPROP (Multiple "Numbers" on PBX) numbers can be delivered with an ISDN30.
An ISDN30 line can be composed of the following numbers:
- ISDN30 Main number (required) (mandatory)
- ISDN30 Number block (optional)
- ISDN30 Number block with Main number included in this block (optional)
- MROP number (individual number)
Requesting a porting
When requesting a porting, it must be clear what happens with the linked number of an analog, ISDN2, or ISDN30 connection. This applies to all numbers (MSN, MROP, and blocks). If this is NOT done, the porting will be blocked by the departing operator, and the request must be submitted again.
An example: If you want to remove a number of numbers from a line of a departing operator, you MUST indicate what will happen to the remaining numbers (comments field). There are 3 possibilities.
- The remaining numbers can also be removed from the line
- The remaining numbers stay active with the departing operator (for example KPN). In that case, the end customer must contact KPN to request a split of the line, making the porting possible. Only after this has been done can the numbers be ported.
- All numbers transfer at once.
Blocking code
When a porting is refused, the old provider sends a reason in the form of a code. Below are the most common codes and possible solutions.
ID | Description | Possible solution |
02 | A porting request has already been submitted for this number. | Wait until the current porting request has been processed. |
22 | Name/address and phone number do not match. | Submit the porting with the correct address. Often a suggestion is made in the note. |
44 | The phone number does not belong to this provider. | Submit the phone numbers separately as portings. |
45 | The phone number cannot be ported. | The number may have been out of use at the old provider for more than two months. |
63 | Within contract | Ask the old provider for the contract termination date. |
99 | Other reason. | See the note for the given reason. |
