Conference

What can I do here?
Configure a 'conference'. With a conference, it is possible to have a conversation with multiple callers simultaneously. Each conference has an internal number but can also be placed in a routing. When a caller enters a conference, a password is requested. The caller enters this by typing the password digits and finishing with a hash (#).

Fields
Extension: The internal number of the conference. When you call this number, you enter the conference.
Description: Optional description of the conference.
Admin password: The code that a caller must enter to join the conference as an admin.
User password: The code that a caller must enter to join the conference as a regular user.
Dial plan
In the dial plan, a conference routing step can be placed. No other routing step can be placed after a conference routing step, but it can be placed before, as shown in the example below:

Tips
A customer calls in. You need some information from a colleague, and the customer can be involved in this process. Using a conference call, you can set up a three-way conversation with the customer, yourself, and your colleague.
- Transfer the customer to the dial plan extension of the conference call. Enter the PIN code yourself before transferring.
- Call your colleague and ask them to join the conference.
- Then call the conference dial plan extension yourself, enter the admin PIN.
- The three-way conversation has started.
Regular users can only add themselves to the conference. Admin users have additional privileges:
- By pressing 3 during a conference call, they can remove the last added user from the conference.
- Admin users themselves cannot be removed from the conference by another admin.
- There is no maximum number of users in a conference.
If it is desirable for third parties (external) to call into a conference call, place the conference module in a dial plan behind an external phone number. Communicate the user PIN to the third parties via email, for example.
