What can I do here
In the portal, audio files can be used in various places. You can upload almost all audio file formats to the portal (including MP4, MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, and WMA). Some phones or voice recorders use different extensions, and to ensure that the file works, you need to convert them.
The maximum file size is 7MB, and for uploading music on hold, the maximum is 30MB.
Converting audio files
The file can be converted in different ways. Three methods are explained below.
Audacity
Audacity is a free tool for converting files. You can download Audacity at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/. After installation, you can open the file. Once the file is loaded, you can export it via File to a .wav, .mp3, or .mp4 file. You can then use this file in the portal.
Online
Various websites on the internet can convert your file. https://www.media.io/ is one example. Here, you can easily upload the file and choose whether you want to create an .mp3 or .wav file. You can then convert the file. This may take some time. Once the file is ready, you can download it and place it in the portal.
Considerations
When using these programs, there are several considerations:
- Online tools each have their own terms of service, please read them carefully. These services may also store your uploaded files on their servers.
- Audacity usage may also have terms and conditions, please read them carefully.
- Both Audacity and online tools are external services. We only provide advice about these services and are not responsible for their use.
