
You want to add one call menu to your dial plan. There are three steps you need to follow to make this happen.

Step 1: Record sound file
First, you will need to have an audio file in which your menu options are announced. This audio file must be recorded in one continuous take, NOT as separate audio fragments.

Step 2: Create Call Menu
You have recorded a sound file and it's ready in Freedom. Now you can create a call menu.
- Go to Admin.
- Go to Call Menu.
- Press Add.
- Give your selection menu a Name.
- Optionally, also provide a Description.

Timeout
This is the number of seconds that the caller has to make a choice. 10 seconds is an excellent default value.
Number of attempts
This is how many times a caller will hear the call menu repeated before being forwarded to the 'Other/Failed' option (more about this option later)

Opening message
This is the message you prepared in step 1. This is what customers will hear first when they enter the call menu.
You can also add optional sounds. Just like with the previous message, you should first prepare these sounds in your Freedom environment.
- Error message is played when an incorrect or invalid choice is made.
- Timeout message is played when the timeout period has expired.
- Click on Save.
You have now created a call menu.

Step 3: Add the Call Menu to your dial plan
- Go to Dial Plans
- Select the phone number in which you want to set up the call menu.
- Click on Modify Dial Plan
- Go to the place in the dial plan where you want to add the call menu.
- Click there on Add Step
- In the first dropdown, choose Call Menu
- In the second dropdown, choose the menu you have created.
- Then you may have the choice to add the steps below to option 1 (You can always change this later).
- Click on Confirm
- Two options will appear: Option 1 and Option Other/Failed.
Add option
- First press Add option until you have all the options that you mentioned in your call menu.
- Here you also specify the number or symbol that the caller needs to press, for example 2 or *.
What should happen per option?
- Under each option, specify what should happen when the caller makes this choice by clicking add step.
Option Other/Failed
- Here you specify what happens if the caller makes no choice or an incorrect choice. This could be a jump to another option so the caller still reaches someone, or you can leave the step empty. There are many possibilities.





Then click Save Changes and your call menu is active!
