This is an ATA that can be configured for an analog phone, fax, or modem. We are familiar with the settings for a fax; while a Cisco SPA112 may offer a solution for connecting other hardware, we cannot guarantee this. We also don't provide support for ATA applications other than fax. We recommend always using the latest firmware.
Firmware upgrade
- Upgrade the firmware of the ATA as follows:
- Download the latest firmware https://software.cisco.com/download/type.html?mdfid=283998771&flowid=30521
- With an analog phone connected to line 1 input, dial * * * * and enter 1 1 0 #. You will hear the IP address.
- Log in to the ATA (http://192.168.x.x/), default username/password is admin/admin. Go to Administration and then click on Upgrade firmware
- Select the firmware you've downloaded and click Upgrade
- By default, the SIP port in the configuration is set to 5061. Make sure you change this if any of your other devices are already using this port. We always recommend using unique ports. You can find this under the "Voice" tab, then click on "Line 1" in the menu on the left. There, under the SIP Settings heading, you'll find the SIP port which is set to 5061 by default. Enter a unique port here.
Alarm system or pin device
When using an ATA with an alarm system or pin device, direct dialing (without a timeout) often causes problems. We recommend using a dial plan with a minimum timeout of 1 second.

Example of a dial plan for 10 digits with a 1 second timeout:
xxxxxxxxxxS1
Use the following dial plan if the alarm system dials 0 for outside lines:
<0,:> xxxxxxxxxxS1
