This guide can be used for the 2N Helios IP door intercom. Make sure the equipment has the latest firmware installed.
Requirements
What do you need?
- 2N Helios IP UNI 1 button or
- 2N Helios IP UNI 2 buttons
- a PoE network connection.
If you don't have a PoE switch, use a PoE injector. Pay attention to the correct wattage.
If the doorphone is installed on the wall, you'll need this:
- 2N Helios IP UNI - Alu box
If the doorphone is installed inside the wall, you don't need anything extra. It comes with a plastic casing that you can install in the wall.
If a door needs to be opened as well, you'll need the following:
- 2N Electrical lock Standard
- 2N 12 V transformer for electrical lock
What else to consider
If there's already a doorphone and an electric lock installed, you can probably reuse some of the existing equipment. In that case, start by making an inventory of what's currently installed.
How it works
The doorphone is configured with a VoIP account. When you press a button on the doorphone, it calls a number (for example, a call group). Someone from the call group answers and can talk to the person at the door. If the person may enter, you press 00* and the door opens. This key combination can be changed.

Finding the IP address
There are 2 ways to find the IP address.
- You can check the DHCP server of your router to see which IP address has been assigned to the doorphone.
- Another option is to have the doorphone announce its IP address, which can be done as follows.
- Connect the Helios to power and internet
- Wait for the 2nd sound signal from the doorphone
- Press the doorbell button 5 times
Enter the obtained IP address in your browser. When logging into the doorphone for the first time, use the username admin and the password 2n. When you log in with these credentials, you will be required to change the password immediately.
Setting up the VoIP account
Click on the purple block Services

- For Display Name you can enter a name for identification
- Enter your VoIP account ID for Phone Number (ID)
- Enter the corresponding password in Password
- For Domain, Proxy Address and Registrar Address enter sipproxy.voipgrid.nl
- Check the Registration Enabled option
- Set Registration Expiry to 1800
- Change the Local SIP Port to, for example, 5067 if this is the 7th(207) VoIP account.
- Check the Send Keep Alive Packets option
- Click on Save at the bottom right of the page

Selecting codec
- Then go to the Audio tab.
- Uncheck the PCMU codec.
- Make sure the PCMA codec is checked and give it the highest priority value (1).
- For DTMF Receiving, check RTP (RFC-2833).
- Click on Save at the bottom right of the page.

Setting up the number to call
- Go back to the main menu
- Click on the blue block Directory
- Click on the icon with a person and +

- Enter a name for Name
- Enter the phone number to call for Phone Number
- Click on Save at the bottom right of the page

Setting up the door opening code
You can enter a code to open the door. By default, this is 00*, but if this is not desirable, you can change it.
- Go back to the main menu
- Click on the black block Hardware
- Under Activation Codes, modify the Code
- Click on Save at the bottom right of the page

- If you don't want to enter * after the code, go to the Advanced tab and check Legacy Switch code
- Click on Save at the bottom right of the page

Activating the doorbell button
To ensure that pressing the doorbell button initiates a call, you need to assign this function to the button. Here's how to do it:
- Go back to the main menu
- Click on the black block Hardware
- Click on Buttons in the left menu
- On the right side under Main Unit Buttons, click on the + sign

- Check the box next to Intercom or the name you entered in 'Setting up the number to call'
- Click on Add

- You will now see the name listed under Main Unit Buttons
- Click on Save at the bottom right of the page

Ghost calls
If you're experiencing ghost calls and have set the Local SIP Port to a value very different from 5060, you can do the following:
- Activate the "IP Address Filter Enabled" option
- Change the SIP Server in Proxy Address and Registrar Address to the IP address 195.35.114.119
