Fax/T.38 settings
Updating firmware
For T.38 to work properly, it's important that the Linksys SPA2102 has the latest firmware. Updating the firmware is done as follows:
- Download the latest firmware version from this page.
- Connect an ethernet cable to the ethernet port of the SPA2102 and plug the other end of the cable into your PC/laptop.
- Connect another ethernet cable to the internet port and plug the other end of the cable into your router.
- Open the following URL in a browser to update the firmware: http://192.168.0.1/admin/upgrade?
- Verify that the firmware update was successful by going to http://192.168.0.1/admin/advanced. On this page you can see the software version.
Network settings
- Go to http://192.168.0.1/admin/advanced
- In the WAN setup tab, set Enable WAN Web Server: to yes. Use the settings from the screenshots below to make faxing work through the SPA2102. It's important that echo cancellation is turned off

Connecting to the network
When you're done with the configuration, disconnect the network cable from the ethernet port. Connect the fax machine to Line 1. If you have set everything up correctly, you will now be able to receive and send faxes.
