1. I want to set up encrypted calling on my device
By default, calls between your device and the Voys telephony platform are unencrypted over your network and the internet. Using encryption ensures your calls are secured between your phone and our platform.
Both the SIP packets and the audio itself (RTP) can be encrypted. This ensures that no one can eavesdrop on your conversation by intercepting network packets. We use TLS to encrypt SIP packets, and SRTP is used to secure the RTP audio.
This guide only describes how to set up encrypted calling. If you want to know how to set up a device normally, click here.
1.1 Yealink W52p/W73p
First, let's set up encrypted calling in Freedom
- Log in to Freedom.
- Click in the menu bar on Admin.
- Go to VoIP-Account.
- Select the account you want to use for encrypted calling.
- Select the tab Advanced SIP Settings.
- Check the box for Force Encryption.
- You'll now see a popup indicating that changes need to be made to your phone.
- Click Continue.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.

You are now making encrypted calls between your phone and the platform.
1.2 Is my device encrypted?
Since August 2022, we aim to set up our devices with encryption by default whenever possible. We don't always do this when devices are being replaced by others that are still in use until the replacement. You can quickly check if your devices are encrypted in the following way.
- Log in to Freedom.
- Go to Admin.
- Go to VoIP-Account.
- Go to the VoIP account of the corresponding device. If you see a lock in the green dot, then it's encrypted. If not, it's not encrypted.

1.3 I can't set up encryption on my device
You might be using an old firmware version. Read here how to update it.
2. Do Not Disturb (DND)
Sometimes you may not want to be disturbed by your phone. You can then set your device to Do Not Disturb mode.

- For Export CFG Configuration File, choose Non-Static Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Then click Export.
- Save the file and open it.
- Search for: features.feature_key_sync.enable
- Change this from: features.feature_key_sync.enable = 1 to features.feature_key_sync.enable = 0
- Save this file.
- Reopen the web interface on the same page.
- This time go to Import CFG Configuration File.
- Click on Browse and select the modified file.
- Click on Import.
- Then click on Save.

8. Setting up a Yealink repeater
A Yealink RT30 repeater extends the range of the Yealink W52P/W60 base station. When repeater mode is enabled and the repeater is registered with the base station, you can use the handset both within the range of the base station and within the range of the repeater.
8.1 Enabling repeater mode
You can easily connect the Yealink repeater by following these steps.
- Press OK on your handset.
- Go to Settings.
- Then go to System.
- Finally, go to Repeater mode.
- Press Change and then Yes.
The base station will restart itself to apply the change. This change applies to all handsets registered on the base station.
8.2 Register Repeater
- Disconnect the repeater from power.
- Put the base station in registration mode. Do this by pressing and holding the button on the front of the base station until the first light starts flashing.
- Turn on the repeater by plugging in the power adapter.

The light on the repeater will start flashing. After a while, the light will remain continuously on. This indicates that the registration was successful and the repeater is functioning correctly.
If the first light on the base station keeps flashing, you can stop it by pressing the button on the front again.
If the registration of the repeater fails, the light on the repeater will continue to stay on. In this case, repeat the steps above.

13. Adjusting internal number on a Yealink
If you have changed the internal number of a VoIP account in Freedom, the internal number on your device's display will not change automatically. This is because the number shown on your device's display is separate from the data in Freedom.
Changing internal number in Freedom
- Go to Freedom.
- Go to Admin.
- Click on VoIP-account.
- Choose the VoIP account for which you want to change the internal number (In this example 201/Bet Weter).
- Here you can change the internal number, for example from 201 to 208.
- Click on Save.

The internal number change is not yet reflected on your device. To adjust this on your device, you need to log in to the web interface of your device. You can access the web interface by entering your device's IP address in your web browser. Instructions on how to find this are provided below for each type of device.
Changing internal number on your Yealink
Finding the IP address of the device
- Press the OK button three times.
- Enter the IP address of the device in a web browser (on a computer that's on the same network). Note! Use https:// Log in with the username admin and the password admin.
- Go to Account.
- Go to Handset Name.
- Adjust the internal number.
- Press Confirm.

14. Linking one VoIP account to multiple Yealink handsets
You have a Yealink base station with multiple handsets. You can configure these independently, each with their own internal number and therefore their own VoIP account. But you can also choose to assign multiple handsets to a single internal number. All linked handsets will then ring when that internal number is called. To set this up, we need to log in to the Yealink base station. You do this via the IP address. See the steps below.
Finding the IP address of the device
- Press the OK button three times.
- Enter the IP address of the device in a web browser (on a computer that's on the same network). Note! Use https:// Log in with the username admin and the password admin.
Through 'Status' → 'Handset&VoIP' you can see the registered handsets on this base station. At the bottom, you'll see registered VoIP accounts. To actually be able to make calls, a VoIP account must be assigned to an account. The account is then linked to a device/handset. This often happens automatically, but you can also adjust this manually.

Through 'Account' → 'Number Assignment' you can link Handsets to an account.
Below you can see a 'standard' situation where Handset 1 is linked to Account 1. In this case, Account 1 is registered with VoIP account 204.

Do you want both devices to ring when someone calls your internal number 204? Then check the box next to Handset 2 in the column of Account 1. If you also want to be able to make outgoing calls with Handset 2, configure this in the same way, but in the lower section (Outgoing lines).

By default, VoIP account 204 is busy when one of the handsets is on a call. To still ensure that you can use your other handsets while one is on a call, you can enable the 'Call waiting' option to activate call waiting. A second call will then also be offered to the other handsets. When you're on a call on one of the handsets and you receive another call, you'll hear a beep through the line. This is the notification of a new call when you're already on another call. By activating the option below, the other linked handsets will also ring when an additional call comes in.
- Press the OK button on the handsets where you want to activate this. (or the key in the middle of the navigation buttons)
- Go to Call options/Call Features.
- Then go to Call Waiting.
- Use the left or right arrow key to set this to On and press OK.
